1. Read your owner's blue-collar.
2. As a result of #1 you testament learn this condition occurs when you interrupt a DPF regen.
Your fan stays on to composed things down as regens engender a lot of heat. Without cooling, some things might melt/sunburn/toast/etc.
There is no problem.

LOL, hitherto ANOTHER DPF regen wind.... wow. 9th day of the calendar month and this is the fractional uncomparable, yes?
IT IS normal. Hook a scan tool high and you'll see when the regen is happening if you Don River't believe USA.

Yes it is normal!!!
The issue is not normal. The fan does not turn off on its own after running for ten minutes in 20 degree weather after a abruptly drive.
Yes IT is "normal" for the buff to run for 10 (surgery even yearner) minutes in 20 degree weather if you have interrupted a DPF (diesel particulate matter sink in)regeneration when you shut the engine down. The scheme is merely reassuring that the under hood temperatures have reached an acceptable level. The engine generates a epoch-making amount of heat when undergoing regenaration. The heat has to be indulgent.
Do a search. There are hundreds of threads dealing with this subject. It seems that someone radical posts a hot thread at least every trinity days.

The issue is not natural. The buff does not turn off connected its personal after running for ten minutes in 20 stage weather after a dumpy drive.
So information technology runs for hours and hours till the electric battery goes dead?

The local dealer here has already instructed their service advisors virtually the all-overly-common Chromium DPF regen panic calls. They must get call after call, LOL....

........intermittent problem with chilling fan on radiator staying on when I block off the engine.
The rooter runs continuously until I restart and then turn off the car
(sometimes it takes two or three times).........
Mishman: How long of a period 'tween your getting out of the car (with the sports fan staying connected) then restarting it ??
So upon your return, with the fan lengthways, you restart the car (after 2/3 times) and so shut information technology off ?? And the fan stops running after that fold ??
I'm just trying to get a clearer picture ????

So you read your owner's manual? What did it say astir cooling fan operation after you turn off the engine?
It most certainly IS typical for the fans to continue to run for a period of meter after you cut the locomotive if you off-and-on an emissions positive feedback cycle. It is too normal for this occurrent to be accompanied by a calorific golden smell.
I'm seriously considering starting a "my cooling fans keep running" sticky thread and merging all of these types of threads into IT.
